Abstract

Continuous developments in the automotive industry have driven the search for new materials, consequently advances in mechanical characteristics and wear resistance in the steels used, seek to reduce, among many aspects, their fuel consumption without affecting the safety of passengers. . Double phase (DP) steels are recognized for high stress and good strain properties. Its characteristics are directly related to the volumetric fractions of the microconstituents. Several references suggest that the high hardness of martensite does not guarantee good resistance to abrasion, a behavior caused by brittleness. The objective of this work was to analyze the influence of the microstructure on resistance to abrasion of AISI 1045 steel. To obtain the DP microstructure, treatments were carried out at intercritical temperatures of 740ºC, 750ºC and 760ºC, then isothermal processes at temperatures of 550ºC with different times. of support, with optical microscopy and SEM the fractions of bainite and martensite were established; resistance to abrasive wear of the selected steel was obtained using the ASTM-G65 standard; Relating the wear resistance with the microstructure, a volumetric loss of mass greater than approximately 15% was found with respect to the material without treatment.

Keywords:Double Phase; Martensite; Bainite; Ferrite; Microstructure.
}, number={40}, journal={Ingenium Revista de la Facultad de Ingeniería}, author={Carlos A, Bohórquez A. and Mauricio A, Sierra C.}, year={2020}, month={ago.} }
