Resumen
El estudio del estereotipo de “Lo bello es bueno”, mediante el que se relaciona el atractivo físico con características positivas de personalidad, conductuales y morales, presenta múltiples implicaciones psicosociales y jurídicas. El objetivo de este estudio es determinar la posible manifestación de sesgos cognitivos en las tomas de decisiones sobre la criminalidad asociados a la percepción del atractivo físico. Participaron 182 jóvenes con edades comprendidas entre los 14 y los 19 años (X = 16.72; DT = 1.707). Se aplicó un cuestionario compuesto por dos conjuntos de imágenes con diversas preguntas y la escala AQ de Buss y Perry, con el fin de valorar la posible criminalidad. De acuerdo con los resultados obtenidos, se ha hallado que los rostros pertenecientes a las mujeres, así como los rostros pertenecientes a varones más jóvenes son relacionados con menor frecuencia con la percepción de criminalidad. Se concluye que el mayor o menor atractivo físico es un factor importante en la formación de impresiones y en su asociación percibida con la comisión de delitos.
