Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check their submissions meet the items shown below. Submissions that do not meet these guidelines will be returned to the authors.

The submission has not been previously published or submitted to other journal (or an explanation is provided in the Comments to the Editor).

Manuscript: Document in PDF format, blind.

Declaration of originality and conflict of interests: a letter addressed to the Editor, where the authors state that the work is original, has not been evaluated elsewhere, and declare conflict of interests if any.

Metadata: the authors are responsible for correctly entering the article's metadata in the OJS platform. This includes the complete information of the authors. Adding or excluding authors, after the first submission, must be justified and depends on Editor's decision.

Guidelines for Authors

The journal provides a template in Microsoft Word for manuscript editing, under the standards of the IEEE Power Engineering Society (LINK TEMPLATE). The bibliographical references must follow the IEEE standard. The document to be submitted must be converted to PDF format. If approved for publication, the Editor will require the author(s) to provide the Microsoft Word version.

Authors must declare conflict of interests in the work they present. The authors must suggest up to 5 possible peer reviewers having H indexes greater than 2, and at least one of the proposed reviewers being international. Additionally, a document containing basic information of the authors will be requested. The forms to be fulfilled are available for download at the link of the journal: Ingenierías USBMed

If the submitted article is accepted, the author(s) will be required to fill out a transfer of rights form.

Copyright notice

This journal provides immediate-free access to its content on the basis of making research freely available to the interested audience and supporting a greater knowledge sharing worldwide.

Therefore, the journal is covered by the Creative Commons 4.0 Attribution-non-commercial-without derivatives (by-nc-nd) License: copying and redistributing the material in any medium or format is allowed, but commercial use of the original works or the possible derivative works is not allowed. If you combine, transform, or create, based on the contents, you may not distribute the modified contents.

Processing and publication in USBMed Engineering is free of charge.

USBMed Engineering provides immediate-open access to its contents, based on the principle of offering to the audience free access to research, helping a greater exchange of knowledge worldwide. The Journal adopts the Creative Commons 4.0 License.

Attribution- Non-Commercial-No Derivatives (by-nc-nd): Allows you to copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format, no commercial use of the original work or any derivative works is permitted, If you combine, transform, or create based on the published contents, you may not distribute the modified contents.

All the contents of Ingenierías USBMed, e-ISSN 2027-5846 are registered and protected by intellectual property protection laws. The intellectual property rights of each article are transferred by their authors to Ingenierías USBMed Journal. By submitting the manuscript, and only if it is accepted for publication, the authors accept that the copyright of their article is transferred to USBMed Engineering. All requests for allowing the authors with the purpose of reproducing their articles are to be considered by the journal. Ingenierías USBMed journal grants access-permission for users and libraries. Ingenierías USBMed journal supports free access to scientific literature, copyright requires respecting authors’ moral rights, mainly the recognition of authorship and respect for the integrity of the work, avoiding as much as possible alterations, translations or falsifications. Since Ingenierías USBMed is an electronic publication of scientific type that publishes scientific-and-technological research papers, analysis articles or review articles, the main objective of both the authors and Ingenierías USBMed is to achieve the widest dissemination of the articles, for this reason the authors transfer their rights to USBMed Engineering journal in exchange for intellectual, moral and work recognition, considering that it is not a matter of leisure or entertainment, instead of that it has strong social interest, because its scientific nature.

Ethical Policy

Authors must act ethically in the processes required for the publication of their articles in Ingenierías USBMed journal. For this, the authors and members of the journal must observe the Editorial Ethics Policy of Editorial Bonaventuriana.

Ethical standars of publication

The journal Ingenierias USBMed expresses its commitment to ethics in the editorial processes. Therefore, the journal Ingenierias UsbMed follows the guidelines that commit actions to ensure the ethical behavior of authors, editors, reviewers and members of the Editorial Committee.

Therefore, the journal Ingenierias UsbMed guarantees compliance with the Principles of transparency and best practices in academic publication issued by the Committee in Publication Ethics (COPE). It also follows the guidelines of the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) and the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME).

Plagiarism

The editorial team verifies the originality of the article for cases of inadequate citation or plagiarism with the Turnitin service (www.turnitin.com). This tool contrasts the evaluated manuscript against current and archived web pages, student papers, and publications from major scientific publishers. When an article presents citation problems, it will be returned to the authors to make appropriate changes. In cases of high match rate, the article will be automatically rejected, even without being reviewed by academic peers.

Post - publication corrections.

If a complaint or appeal is filed, it will be resolved in the mail ingenierias.usbmed@usb.edu.co where the relevance of the request will be reviewed.

Withdrawal

Authors have the right to manifest and spontaneous retraction of the partial or total content of their manuscripts at any time. The retraction communication must be sufficiently explicit.

Digital preservation

The journal Ingenierias UsbMed has the Open Journal System (OJS) platform through which it publishes its issues under the existence of information security protocols. Each of the articles published in the journal Ingenierias UsbMed has the Digital Object Identifier (DOI) that allows locating the published texts while ensuring their online access.

In order to preserve its publications, the journal Ingenieria Usbmed has a backup in the institutional repository.

Content responsibility

The content of the articles published by Ingenierías USBMed is the sole responsibility of the author(s) and does not necessarily reflect the thinking of the editorial and scientific committee of the Ingenierías USBMed journal. The texts may be reproduced totally or partially by adopting the proper citation of sources.

Names and email addresses provided to this journal are used solely for the purposes stated in this journal and will not be provided to third parties for use with other purpose.
