Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check their submissions meet the items shown below. Submissions that do not meet these guidelines will be returned to the authors.

  • The paper has not been published elsewhere and has not been simultaneously submitted to another publication.
  • The submitted file should be in Microsoft Word format.
  • Papers should be no longer than 15 single-spaced, letter-sized pages and follow the journal's editorial guidelines.
  • All URLs in the text are active and can be opened.
  • The text should be single-spaced, in Times New Roman 12 point font, and all illustrations, figures and tables should be referenced within the text and not at the end of the text.
  • The text complies with the bibliographical and stylistic requirements indicated in the Guidelines for Authors, which can be found in the Information for Authors section.
  • Submit the required files to initiate the review process (original article with author information, article without author information and letter of assignment of rights).

Guidelines for Authors


The journal accepts articles in Spanish and English. However, authors are encouraged to submit their articles in Spanish or English, since publications in English are more likely to increase visibility and international citation, both for the authors and the journal.


 


 Article Submission


The submission of an article must be accompanied by a Letter of Copyright Assignment, where the authors authorize the Universidad de San Buenaventura, Bogotá, to reproduce the article by any means; this assignment includes all rights of reproduction, distribution, public exhibition and any other related rights. The Letter of assignment of copyrights. The article will be submitted to the Open Journal System - OJS in the Virtual Library of Editorial Bonaventuriana after going to the website and registering or logging in as a user.


 


Articles with the following characteristics will NOT be considered for publication:



  • Previously published in another journal or scientific/informative publication.

  • A translation or use of copyrighted material.

  • A critique of the state of the art of engineering, which does not contribute to innovate on the subject.

  • An article that comes from class notes.

  • Articles, which are offensive or harsh aimed at individuals, research groups, products and / or other services.


 


Authors should adjust their articles to comply with the submission format and refer to the Model Article Submission Format. They should upload the manuscript in Microsoft Word® suitable for blind review “without author information” (no .ZIP or other compressed file), in its original version. They should also upload supplementary files (copyright assignment letter and original version of the paper, as it should be, with authors' names, institutional affiliation, city, country, e-mail and others, etc.).


Once the article in its two versions, the copyright assignment letter and the article registration form have been correctly submitted through the OJS, the system will send an acknowledgement of receipt to the author registered in the system. All communication regarding the article and the processing of supplementary material will be carried out through the e-mail address registered by the main author of the article.


 


Article Format



  1. Articles should be between 8,000 and 12,000 words in length, excluding references. The font used should be Times New Roman size 12, single spaced, in letter size, including the ABSTRACT (between 150 and 250 words) in Spanish and English and the KEY WORDS (between 3 and 5 words), also in Spanish and English.

  2. All articles will be submitted to peer review, designated by the Editorial Committee. Exceptions will be decided by the Committee.

  3. The presentation of the article must be in accordance with the Model Format for Submitting Articles. Footnotes are not allowed for reasons of layout of the journal.

  4. Under the title of the article (in Spanish and English), only the following data of the authors should be strictly included:



  • Author(s) name(s)

  • Highest academic or professional qualification,

  • Institutional affiliation of each author (academic program or department, name of the Institution without abbreviations or acronyms), city and country.

  • Electronic address (e-mail), in case the e-mails are from the same server, they are NOT grouped, each address is written complete and separate.
