Abstract
Con especial orgullo, y con cierto tono triunfalista en buena parte de los países occidentales desde hace ya varias décadas, se comparte y celebra la abolición de la esclavitud. Se la deplora, critica, condena y rechaza desde todos los ámbitos, no sólo por ser una práctica aberrante en la que los seres humanos son tratados como mercancías, sino también porque se violentan, desconocen y pisotean principios universales como los derechos humanos, la dignidad y la libertad.
