Abstract
El propósito del presente artículo es hacer un breve recorrido histórico tratando de rastrear la incursión y el desarrollo de las empresas multinacionales –EMN– en la ciudad de Cali, desde su primera oleada, en la década del 40 del siglo XX, hasta nuestros días. Este intento no se puede hacer sin tener en consideración las dificultades con que cuenta este ejercicio ya que existe mucha dificultad para acceder a fuentes documentales que permitan configurar de manera más o menos amplia y precisa una historia empresarial dela región, lo cual es en cierto sentido una deuda intelectual con la misma. El presente ejercicio de análisis documental hace parte de una investigación más amplia que indaga por la trayectoria laboral y social de profesionales insertos en EMN de la ciudad de Cali.
