Resumen
En este trabajo se intentan mostrar los aspectos más significativos existentes en la literatura sobre las agresiones sexuales en el ámbito universitario. En concreto, esta revisión se centra en el papel del alcohol y los mitos o creencias sobre la violación, por ser éstos unos de los factores que mayores consecuencias negativas producen en las víctimas, disminuyendo su motivación para denunciar los hechos e incrementando la autoculpabilización. El trabajo se organiza en tres apartados: a) la magnitud del problema, b) el papel del alcohol en la ocurrencia de la violencia sexual, y c) la influencia de los mitos o creencias erróneas construidas en torno a la violación. Finalmente, se presentan algunas reflexiones sobre los esfuerzos que deben seguir realizándose desde la investigación para tener una mejor comprensión de la ocurrencia de agresiones sexuales en población universitaria, en aras a desarrollar programas de prevención e intervención más eficaces.
