Abstract

The objective of this research was to determine the possible relationship between depression and the consumption of psycho-active substances in a group of high school students from the fourth district of Bogotá, this school has an agreement with “Secretaria de Educación del Distrito Capital”. A descriptive – coorelational study was carried out. The simple was composed of 88 students selected on purpose where 44 out of them were boys and 44 were girls. Their average age was between 12 and 17 years, they were eight grade that belonged to socio-economical strata 2, they were applied a questionnaire, depression CDS the concised DUSI - R to determine psycho-active substances consumption. Among the outcomes, it was stated the there is a meaningful co-relation between the two variables reflecting similarities with other researches.
