Abstract

Index H evaluate the construct reliability from the SEM approach, since it may be inappropriate using usual reliability estimates if some basic assumptions are not met. To demonstrate the technique, was used information of four empirical studies and were compared the reliability coefficients obtained (α, ω and H). Similarly, application in bifactor modeling was analyzed. Finally, the advantages, limitations
and conditions for the proper application of the technique in the context of the validation of psychological assessment instruments are discussed.
