Abstract

For several generations, Colombians have lived in a context of violence and socio-economic inequality, exacerbated by the political and armed conflict. This climate is increasingly affecting everyday life, subjectivity and manifests itself in various psychosocial effects. Psychology, par excellence, area of knowledge of the human, allows us to understand the psychological mechanisms operating in armed conflict, its effects and psychosocial trauma. It also offers the possibility of defining therapeutic initiatives. Therefore, and knowing the contexts of our communities, psychology of war becomes an imperative issue for that / as interested / as committed / as in accompanying people and communities directly or indirectly affected; so this article aims to give a brief overview of the elements that could be part of the study of psychology in contexts of political violence
