Abstract
En este escrito se exploran algunos aspectos del pensamiento de Hannah Arendt: en primer lugar su reflexión sobre el mal que representó el horror del Holocausto, con base en el juicio llevado a cabo en Jerusalén en 1961 contra el criminal de guerra nazi Adolf Eichmann. De otra parte, su juicio sobre el totalitarismo, es decir, sobre lo que enuncia como un sorprendente parecido entre los totalitarismos de izquierda y derecha, a pesar de su antagonismo político. Por último, la situación polémica que ha generado su encasillamiento como pensadora conservadora, tendencia que en cierta forma aparece a lo largo de su obra, pero que en aras de su comprensión debe comportar una revisión de lo que en ella significa el término conservadora.
