Análisis bibliométrico del campo de trabajo social: una mirada a partir de la producción científica en revistas de impacto internacional

Abstract

This article aims to conduct a bibliometric analysis of scientific production in Social Work based on articles published in indexed journals found in the Scopus and Web of Science (WoS) databases from 2017 to 2021. The open-source software RStudio and the web app Biblioshiny from the Bibliometrix package and the model PRISMA to analyze authors, documents, thematic areas, and behavior of the countries regarding scientific production. One of the findings was that, in the year 2020, there was a total of 64 indexed journals between Scopus and WoS, which allowed for estimating how this professional was positioned in scientific research. It was observed that production indicators in social work have grown at a slow but steady pace. Social work is a discipline that has adapted to scientific rigor and has earned recognition, transitioning from an old and less useful praxis to new concepts and theories that have enabled it to respond satisfactorily to current demands.
