The Author and / or AUTHORS



This research attends to promote hygine habits, comunity water management and sanitation improvements in the small town of Leticia (Colombia), in support with the execution of basic sanitation plans as a right to count with resources to reduce contamination risks and diseases among the population. The project involves the Action Participation Research (APR) based on PHAST (Participatory Higiene and Sanitation Transformation) metodology in which the comunity incorporates itself in the project from the begining, determining its needs and the research development makes parte of the education experience to augment consciousness and their commitment. The results show the comunity participation which contributes to a better level of life and equity within the basic needs of its inhabitants.
