Abstract
Nos encontramos inmersos en mega sociedades donde las fronteras físicas ya han sido traspasadas. La instauración de agrupaciones de todo orden actúa como una forma de respuesta defensiva frente al intento avasallador de homogeneización global. El campo religioso, que pudiera creerse en retirada, parece fortalecerse en un continente que históricamente se ha identificado con las religiones oficiales y que hoy posee un grado de diversificación a partir de la irrupción de nuevas alternativas religiosas. El proyecto modernizador en crisis ha traído consigo nuevas formas de asociatividad al amparo de la postmodernidad, y el camino en la búsqueda de identidad recién comienza. El presente artículo pretende indagar en los factores que han motivado esta “mutación religiosa” y las particularidades que implica.
