Abstract
Es mi intención en este trabajo detenerme en los modos de autopercepción y de autorepresentación que los hijos de inmigrantes árabes construyeron a través de lo artístico y lo estético. Lo argentinoárabe, entendido como identidad que complejiza la diversidad cultural de Latinoamérica en general y de Argentina en particular, forja imágenes, mitos, tradiciones que rebasan la cultura nacional. Entenderemos la imagen artística no solo como copia realista de seres y objetos sino como un montaje transformador de tiempos heterogéneos. Según Merleau-Ponty, la imagen que el arte ofrece vuelve “visible el mundo”.
