Abstract
Internships are a fundamental part of the student's academic training [1], and it is a key step for them to come into contact with real business situations [2], the environment and the context of what is going to be developed in the future professional. The objective of this article is to document management practices and the lessons learned from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of San Buenaventura campus Medellín, it is based in a general description of the process and mechanisms to identify the current needs of the business environment, strategic alliances and planned improvement through findings and action plans; in order to guarantee a satisfactory experience for the student and the companies, ensuring the quality of the professionals in training and the institution´s reputation.
